Roger Feagley
Executive Director

Roger has been the Executive Director of the Sulphur Springs Hopkins County EDC since 2005.  In that capacity he is charged with the overall operation of the corporation.  This includes business retention and expansion, business recruitment, marketing the community for primary job creation companies, property development, and development of incentive programs for the community and packaging them for the companies that request assistance.  In addition to those duties Roger is also charged with the overall management of the daily operations of the corporation, budget administration and development of the annual plan of work. 

Roger’s previous experience includes a twenty-seven year career with the City of Mansfield.  In 1994 Roger was appointed the first Economic Development Director for the City.  During his tenure the Mansfield EDC completed 79 projects creating over 2,000 jobs.  After retirement Roger became the Economic Development Director for the Arlington Chamber of Commerce.  He held that position through the Cowboy Stadium election. 

Roger holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Texas.  He has completed the Economic Development Institute program of study at the University of Oklahoma.  His professional involvements include:

  • Member of the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC)
    • Current and past Board Member of TEDC
  • Member of the Workforce Solutions for Northeast Texas Board of Directors
    • Serving on the Executive Committee as Board Secretary
  • Member of the Industrial Asset Manager Council

  • Member of the Sulphur Springs Rotary Club

Glenda Bassham
Director of Workforce and Business Retention

Glenda is a Hopkins County native. She has been with the EDC for three years and is the Business Retention and Workforce Director for the Sulphur Springs Hopkins County EDC. She works with our current businesses to grow and expand, assisting them in finding and recruiting skilled staff members.  Glenda also works with Workforce Solutions for North East Texas, Paris Jr. College and Sulphur Springs ISD to develop the emerging workforce as well as the incumbent workforce.  She is also involved with the marketing the community for new businesses.  In this capacity she produces reports and studies about our workforce’s skills and abilities.  Glenda has spent the vast majority of her career in the workforce field.  As a twenty five year employee with the State of Texas as a Workforce Specialist, she knows our workforce and how to work within the system to make things happen.

Mitzi Y'Barbo
Administrative Assistant

Mitzi joined the Sulphur Springs Hopkins County EDC in June of 2012 as our Administrative Assistant.  Mitzi is responsible for the internal office operations.  She is in effect our office manager.  In that role she handles our accounts payable and receivables.  Mitzi is a graduate of Texas A&M Commerce with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Photography.  With her degree she is responsible for the photography that we use in various outlets.  Mitzi combines the photography and journalism to produce our handouts and other promotional materials.  Mitzi is also the person that is charged with preparing the responses that we make to companies and consultants we interact with on projects. Mitzi also manages the website for the EDC. She spent 11 years working in education before coming to the EDC.

Some of Mitzi’s community involvement includes:

  • League Services Administrator of the Northeast Texas Symphony
  • Member of the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
  • Graduate of the Adult Leadership Class of Sulphur Springs
  • Completion of the BEDC Course
  • Website manager for the School District’s Athletic Booster website, and for the campuses she worked on.

 

Board

Thomas C. Sellers, President

Tom's thirty five (35) years in financial lending operations began in 1978.  He served for four (4) years as County Supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration in Brownfield/Plains, Texas.

He began his banking career in 1982 as a Vice President for the Federal Land Bank at Tyler.  His primary responsibility was real estate loans and Senior Lending Officer.  He joined Alliance Bank (a.k.a. Sulphur Springs State Bank) in 1988 as Vice President-Loans.  He became Chief Lending Officer in 1993, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 1994.  In 1996 he became Chief Administrative Officer for the Hopkins County Division of Alliance Bank.  In June, 1999 he was promoted to President, and in January 2004, he was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Alliance Bank.


Clay Walker, Vice President

Has lived in Sulphur Springs since 1963.
Graduated from Sulphur Springs HS in 1971.
Graduated from East Texas State University in 1977 with a BS Construction Science.
Worked in Equipment Repair Business
Worked in Institutional, Commercial, Industrial and Civil Construction throughout the South.

Married to Peggy Paul Walker

Tory Humphries, Secretary/Treasurer

Tory Humphries grew up in Cooper, Texas, graduating in1987. He earned his degree from East Texas State University in 1991 with a B.A. in Business Marketing.

He worked as a Sales Agent for IBM from 1991 - 1993 & a Marketing Representative for NET Data 1993 - 1997.

President and Co-Owner of NET Data 1998 – Present

He is married to Daidre Bronson Humphries, and has 2 kids; Lauren who is a sophomore at TCU & Ryan who is a freshman at Sulphur Springs.


Craig Roberts

After graduating from Austin College in 1993, Craig continued his work at American Bank of Texas as an analyst and Stephen L Ramsey and Company CPA.  Following a career as an income tax analyst and field auditor with Ramsey and then McClanahan and Holmes, CPA, Craig joined Guaranty Bank & Trust in 1998.

Since, Craig has served in various positions in Paris, Mount Vernon, and Sulphur Springs.  Currently, he is President of the Sulphur Springs Market.


Buck Booker

Buck Booker was born and raised in Sulphur Springs, graduating from Sulphur Springs High School in 1970. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974.

Buck returned to Sulphur Springs and joined the Super Handy convenience store chain. Super Handy was founded by Buck’s father, Larry Booker in 1948. He succeeded his father as President and CEO in 1988.

Buck is a Past President of the Sulphur Springs Rotary Club where he has held membership since 1987. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce.

Buck and his wife Debbie have two daughters and three grandchildren.
