New jobs are coming to Hopkins County thanks to Diversified Minerals Incorporated; which held their ground breaking ceremony Friday morning on Pioneer Parkway off Interstate 30.

Sulphur Springs Mayor Freddie Taylor, Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom and Alliance Bank President and CEO Tom Sellers all spoke at the event to congratulate and welcome Diversified Minerals to the community.

“We started in 1990 in California with cement blending, and then we expanded to Diversified Storage Systems in 1993,” said DMI CEO Jim Price. “The business culture in Texas is just fan- tastic. ... This is our third expansion and definitely the most exciting.”

Price said that after building their facility on the property, they have purchased additional land to expand and possibly bring additional job opportunities to Sulphur Springs.

“I love this community. We have had a connection every time we have flown down here. We were looking at several locations to build, either Minnesota, Texas, Nevada or Montana. We wanted to be next to a thoroughfare, like highway 30, because we ship a lot of equipment to the East coast and Houston from the port. When we found this location, it felt right.”
