Healthcare Services

Hopkins County Memorial Hospital

Hopkins County Memorial Hospital is a 100-bed, full service, acute general hospital which serves the 30,000 residents who live within the 800 square miles of Hopkins County, plus residents of neighboring counties. We offer surgery, pathology, radiology, maternity, intensive care, respiratory therapy, physical therapy and emergency services. The hospital offers sophisticated procedures such as computerized tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, magnetic resonance imaging, arthroscopic and laparoscopic procedures. The emergency department is supported by mobile intensive care ambulance service. Specialty clinics offer medical care for gastrointestinal disorders, orthopedic, cardiology, and urology.

The Medical Staff provides expertise in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, General and Vascular Surgery, and OB/GYN with over 40 physicians on staff.

Location

 

Sulphur Springs - Hopkins County is located in Northeast Texas on the Interstate 30 corridor just a short drive east of the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex and its 34 major transportation routes. That position in the right corner of Texas makes it accessible to multiple points of business and interest, including one of the busiest NAFTA corridors in the United States Intersate 30. State Highway 11, State Highway 19 and US 67 augment the transportation network.

Incentives

  • The Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County EDC is a Type A Sales Tax Corporation that receives approximately $1.6 million annually to fund development activities.
     
  • The Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County EDC provides financial assistance on a regular basis to companies that locate in our community.
     
  • Through the Higher Education Center the Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County EDC offers job training to companies that require on-site or off-site training for their employees.
     
  • Tax abatement is available for up to ten years for qualifying investments.
     
  • The Northeast Texas Workforce Solutions (Texas Workforce Commission) staff is available to work closely with companies to recruit employees for their operation in Sulphur Springs. This service is available at no cost to you.
     
  • We are able to provide infrastructure development and improvements as well as land assistance.
     
  • The Sulphur Springs/Hopkins County EDC has constructed buildings, roads water and sewer lines, parking lots, etc. for economic development projects.
     
  • Finally, the City of Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County can provide additional incentives through a Chapter 380/381 agreements.

Air Quality

 
Hopkins County is the first county along Interstate 30 to be outside the “non-attainment" area established for the Dallas Fort Worth Region.  This means that any air permitting is easier to obtain in Hopkins County as compared to the counties in the “non-attainment” area around Dallas Fort Worth.
